Our provider is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with unique training in conventional medicine as well as advanced Functional and Integrative Medicine.
At RCWC we promote chronic disease prevention and support natural, holistic healing. To accomplish this our practitioner will work closely with you to identify lifestyle factors/ root causes contributing to functional imbalances through advanced testing and investigative history gathering. Together as a team, we develop a personalized treatment utilizing approaches that truly build a foundation for health and wellness.
We are an out-of-network provider. This means that we do not accept insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare. You can use FSA/HSA. Patients can be given a super-bill that can be submitted to insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. There may be services provided that are not covered by insurance such as health coaching and supplements.
In order to best identify root causes and obtain real results, we use advanced lab testing that is not used in standard medical practice and not covered by insurance.
Q: Is Functional Medicine covered by Insurance
A: Unfortunately, the insurance model does not recognize this type of health care. The current medical system that is under the coverage of health insurance is a ‘Diagnose and Treat’ model where the treatments typically consist of a pharmaceutical to cover the symptom, or surgery. The holistic or functional model of health does not diagnose nor does it treat. Therefore our model does not fall under insurance coverage. However, in some instances based on your FSA / HSA account, costs may qualify for reimbursement.

A: Yes! Functional medicine is founded in science. Even though many sources describe it as holistic or alternative medicine, it is science-based. The main difference is that we focus on body systems rather than the traditional medicine approach of treating symptoms.

A: Yes we do, in fact it's the only way we work with patients so we can help people not restricted by local access.
Q: Can I see your practitioner as my primary care provider?
A: No, our mission is to learn what caused your symptoms and allow you to apply solutions to your life. Our goal is to empower you to take charge of your health without needing to see us for ongoing care.
Q: Will I need to continue seeing my other specialists?
A: Yes, but we work with your specialists as needed.
Q: What conditions are most common among your patients?
A: We help with a variety of conditions. The most common conditions we see are gastrointestinal, autoimmune, hormone, thyroid, performance optimization, infertility, and biohacking.
