DHT & testosterone

Testosterone is part of this story for both men and women, but not in the way most people assume. Your body converts a portion of testosterone into a more potent hormone called DHT, and according to the American Hair Loss Association, DHT binds to hair follicles and gradually shrinks them, shortening the hair growth cycle and leading to the progressive thinning seen in androgenetic alopecia.
